The e-LEARNING PROJECT is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Industry, Technology, Energy and Commerce (MITEC) and the Ministry of Education and Youth (MOEY) The project is being implemented by the e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited (e-LJam) and will utilize Information and Communication Technologies in Jamaica’s 160 high schools to assist in improving the level of passes at the CXC CSEC examinations. A Pilot Project is being conducted in twenty eight (28) high schools and three (3) Teachers Colleges during the first year of the Project 2006-2007.
One of the major deliverables under the project is the development of an educational video lesson series to assist secondary level students meet the demands of the most challenging areas of their courses of study.
The series will be available to the public through a dedicated educational television channel as well as packaged on DVD. These lessons will be made available to students in the classroom, in public libraries and may be provided for use at home.
Through the tendering system e-LJam has signed a contract with Zed Jamaica Limited to develop and produce the first in a series of educational video packages to be developed under the e-Learning Project.
Objective of the Assignment
The objective of this contract is the development and production of 20 educational video lesson series with accompanying Teacher’s and Student Guides for Grades 10 and 11, in the following CSEC subject areas:
- Information Technology
Each video will be a maximum of twenty minutes in length.
